Supportive Listeners for Families

Summary:

Families facing NORSE often find themselves in a whirlwind of medical information, fear, and uncertainty especially during ICU stays. The Supportive Listeners initiative connects families of current patients with volunteers who have experienced NORSE in their own lives.

These volunteers are not medical professionals and do not provide clinical advice. Instead, they offer compassionate listening and emotional support. Sometimes just speaking the words, telling the story, and being heard by someone who understands can be an important step toward coping.

Families can request to be matched with a listener via the Contact Page.
