Introduction

Welcome to the official website of The NORSE Institute. By using this website, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use this site.

These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the site. We reserve the right to update or change these terms at any time. Your continued use of the site following the posting of any changes will constitute your acceptance of those changes.

Who We Are

The NORSE Institute is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization operating through the fiscal sponsorship of CURE Epilepsy. Our website, www.norseinstitute.org, provides resources, education, and advocacy around rare, severe seizure conditions including New Onset Refractory Status Epilepticus (NORSE) and Febrile Infection-Related Epilepsy Syndrome (FIRES).

Effective treatment for NORSE and FIRES remains elusive. Our work seeks to stimulate new thinking and research across multiple medical disciplines, exploring the conceptual and practical boundaries of NORSE treatment including long-term critical care, ICU and epilepsy coordination, palliative care, and immune-based therapies.

Use of the Website

You agree to use this website lawfully and respectfully. You must not use the site in any way that breaches any applicable laws or regulations or that is fraudulent, harmful, or causes harm to any individual or organisation.

We may suspend or terminate access to the site without notice if we believe these terms have been violated.
