Sample Treatment Algorithm: Generalised Convulsive Status Epilepticus

This resource provides a sample treatment algorithm for managing generalised convulsive status epilepticus (GCSE) in both adults and children. It is intended as a clinical reference for healthcare professionals who care for patients with an active or working diagnosis of status epilepticus.

The goal of therapy is to terminate both clinical and electrical seizure activity safely and promptly, reducing the risk of mortality and long-term morbidity.

This pathway outlines stepwise treatment recommendations, helping clinicians act quickly and decisively during what are often fast-moving and high-risk situations.
